Our recent discussion and feedback session with a local health and social care service proved to be a resounding success. The session, facilitated by ERANO, brought together a diverse group of refugee women to share their experiences and provide invaluable insights into the services they access.
Open and honest dialogue prevailed throughout the session, with women candidly discussing their needs, challenges, and areas for improvement within the health and social care system. Key themes emerged, including:
- Accessibility: Women highlighted barriers to accessing services, such as language barriers, cultural misunderstandings, and limited transportation options.
- Cultural Sensitivity: The importance of culturally sensitive care was emphasized, including the need for interpreters, culturally appropriate information materials, and services that respect diverse beliefs and practices.
- Support Networks: Women expressed a strong desire for increased support networks, including peer support groups and access to community resources.
