Empowering Refugees and Newcomers’ Organisation (ERANO) extends a warm embrace to refugees, asylum seekers and new comer migrant families to the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area, fostering an environment that empowers them to reconstruct their lives and fulfil their potential.
Initially we were set up in 2021 to serve the Syrian refugee community as part of the Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Scheme, but has now expanded to serve Ukrainian refugees and other ethnic minority groups within the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area.
Today, our organisation reaches out to over 100 families within the Fermanagh and Omagh. Our approach ensures that individuals are not only provided with essential support but also encouraged to participate actively in the cultural and social fabric of their new found home.
The aim of ERANO is to support these vulnerable communities to become self-supporting active community citizens. To enable them and the communities they live in to build a cohesive sustainable future together, help to end any sense of isolation by providing practical and emotional support, facilitating a greater cultural understanding between communities.
The objective is to ensure we, ERANO, makes a difference and helps provide ‘relevant’ assistance so our members can improve their lives, grow in confidence, and feel part of the community they have made home. To help Refugee and Asylum Seeker communities build capacity where it is needed and through time build on their strengths and shared learning.
We offer support and advice through a variety of means including running funded events and projects that will empower participants, from Refugee and Asylum Seeker communities, and encourage them to play a more active role within their new communities within Fermanagh Omagh District Council area.
