Community Safety and Inclusion Roundtable

ERANO would like to thank everyone that turned up for our Community Safety and Inclusion Roundtable event.

There was great representation from local political parties, FODC, and community leaders. The group collectively discussed the raising incidents of racial hate crime in the area, and the take away message was that Omagh is, and will remain a place of welcome and support for ALL communities.

Participants showed determination and dedication to tackle bigotry in any form and all agreed that a zero tolerance approach would be taken to ensure that the district remains a place of safety and welcome for the new communities residing here.

ERANO would also like to thank Sgt Johnny Hamill, Neighbourhood Policing for his invaluable contributions to the discussion, and Ms Denise Wright, Race Relations, Consultant for facilitating the meeting.
